Question : Withdrawal of Air Routes

(a) whether the Government has withdrawn or proposes to withdraw some domestic and international routes of Air India where it is suffering losses;

(b) if so, the details of such domestic and international routes of Air India, sector-wise;

(c) whether these routes have been allocated or are proposed to be allocated to the private airlines;

(d) if so, the details thereof, airline-wise along with the losses incurred/ likely to be incurred by Air India as a result thereof; and

(e) the corrective measures taken/ proposed to be taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) : No, Madam. However, Air India continuously monitors the market developments with an objective to rationalize, restructure its schedule either by withdrawing or by introducing new routes/increase or decrease frequency on existing routes/modifying the existing schedule/changing the equipment on a particular route etc.

(b) to (e) : Do not arise in view of (a) above.
