THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS, FOOD AND PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION ( SHRI SRIRAM CHAUHAN )
(a) and (b) Kerosene is an allocated product. Government of India
allocates SKO to the States/UTs on annual basis and same is released on
monthly basis. The distribution within the State is the responsibility of
the concerned State Government.
Any separate SKO allocation for the fishing sector within
the State is to be adjusted/given by the concerned State Government within
its overall SKO allocation. Presently only the State of Gujarat gets
monthly allocation of SKO for fishing sector, which is specifically
earmarked by the Government out of its total monthly PDS allocation.
The kerosene requirement of fishermen for their boats can be met through
parallel marketeers etc.
