Question : Fraud in Posting of Teachers

(a) whether the Government has received information about the fraud in posting of teachers in
schools and regarding the number of students in the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof during the year 2018 and 2019, State-wise;
(c) the number of Government-aided schools in the country, State-wise; and
(d) whether the Government proposes to make strict provisions to prevent fraud in the posting
of teachers in schools and regarding the number of students and infrastructure and if so, the
time by which the action is likely to be taken?

(a) to (d): Education is in the Concurrent List of the Constitution and majority of the schools are
under the domain of the States/Union Territories Government. The recruitment, service
conditions, transfer, posting and redeployment of teachers come under the purview of the
respective State and Union Territory (UT) Government. The state-wise number of Government
aided schools in the country is at Annexure. Further, Ministry of Human Resource
Development has been requesting all the States and UT Government for filling-up the vacant
posts of teachers and their rational deployment, for which the Ministry issues advisories to all
the States and UTs from time to time.
