(a) whether the Union Government has received any proposal from the State Government of Kerala for setting up of National Institute of Sustainable Coastal Zone Management in the State; and
(b) if so, whether the Union Government has considered the request of the Kerala Government; and
(c) if so, the time by which a final decision in this regard is likely to be taken and the National Institute of Sustainable Coastal Zone Management is likely to be set up in Kerala?

(a) & (b): Yes, Sir. The Ministry of Environment and Forests had received
proposals from several State Governments for setting up of the National Centre
for Sustainable Coastal Zone Management including from the State Government of
Kerala.
(c): After taking into consideration the proposals received from the various
State Governments, the Ministry of Environment and Forests had decided to set up
the National Centre for Sustainable Coastal Zone Management in Anna University,
Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
