(a) whether the survey of Bhanupalli-Bilaspur railway line has
been updated according to the declaration made during the last year’s
budget;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether any orders regarding new survey have been issued;
(d) if so, the details thereof; and
(e) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (e) : Earlier, updating survey for new line from Bhanupalli-Beri
via Bilaspur (63 kms.) was carried out in 1994-95. In the budget 2004-05,
updating survey for new line from Bhanupalli – Bilaspur was included. This
has been completed in February, 2005. As per updated survey report, the
cost of 47.65 kms. long line has been assessed at Rs. 641.48 crore with a
rate of return as (-) 20.93%. Zonal Railway has been advised to update
the survey upto Beri as was done in 1994-95. The survey is likely to be
completed during the current financial year.
