Question : COMMISSIONING OF BRAHMAPUTRA NAVAL SHIP

(a) whether the Indian Naval Ship Brahmaputra has been commissioned recently, without its main weapon systems, the Trishul;

(b) if so, the reasons therefor;

(c) whether the warship has been described by the Navy as `Rhino without a horn`; and

(d) the reaction of the Government thereto?

(a) & (b): INS Brahmaputra has been commissioned without Trishul weapon system as the system is still undergoing trials and its performance has not yet been fully proved.
