Question : WASTEFUL EXPENDITURE



(a) whether any Expenditure Reforms Commission has been set up in his Ministry to give its recommendations for reducing the existing wasteful expenditure of his Ministry and Departments under his Ministry;

(b) if so, its composition thereof;

(c) details of recommendations made by this Commission so far;

(d) details of those recommendations which are yet to be implemented by his Ministry or departments under his Ministry alongwith reasons for not implementing them, till date; and

(e) the time by which these are likely to be implemented in true spirit?

(a) to (e): No, Sir. However, Government instructions to avoid wasteful expenditure such as reduction in the number of sanctioned posts, restrictions on creation and filling up of vacant posts, reduction in office expenses, restrictions on foreign travel, purchase of vehicles and hospitality expenses are being followed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
