Question : AIR SERVICE AGREEMENT WITH KUWAIT .



(a) whether the Government has recently held meeting with Kuwait delegation for promotion of bilateral relations in the field of Civil Aviation between the two countries;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government has agreed to increase the weekly capacity of seats in airlines operating from Kuwait; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) and (b): Yes, Sir. Bilateral air services consultations between India and Kuwait were held on 18-19 July, 2006 in New Delhi.

(c): Yes, Sir.

(d): As per the MOU signed during the said talks, the capacity entitlement for the designated airlines of both sides has been increased from 5200 seats per week to 8000 seats per week. Also, Ahmedabad has been granted as an additional point of call for the designated airlines of Kuwait apart from the existing points of Mumbai, Delhi, Trivandurm, Chennai and Cochin.
