(a) the total number of Indian soldiers sacrificed their lives while doing their duties for the last fifty years;
(b) whether national war memorials have been built / are being built;
(c) if so, the details thereof;
(d) whether the Government provides some assistance or allocates funds for building martyr’s memorial when a soldier die; and
(e) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) Information is being collected and will be laid on the Table of the House.
(b) & (c): The Cabinet in its meeting held on 7th October 2015 has approved construction of the National War Memorial at C Hexagon, East of India Gate, New Delhi. The tentative time frame for project completion is five years.
(d) & (e): There are no such provisions at present.
