(a) & (b) The National Fellowship and Scholarship Scheme for Higher Education of ST Students comprises of two sub-schemes namely (i) Top Class Education for ST Students for students studying in any of the 158 institutes of repute identified by the Ministry and (ii) Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowships for ST students which is implemented through University Grants Commission. 1000 students, as per merit, from all over the country are provided scholarship under the Top Class Education scheme and 750 applicants are given fellowship for pursuing M. Phil/Ph.D. Applicants are given benefit directly under DBT mode, hence there is no State-wise allocation of funds under the scheme.The requisite details sought are given in Annexure.

Under the Top Class Education for ST Students, financial assistance is provided to ST students studying in any of the 158 top class institutes identified by the Ministry. Hence, funds are not allocated state-wise. The details of funds released and number of beneficiaries during each of the last three years is as under:

Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship for STStudents is implemented by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs through the University Grants Commission. There is no state wise allocation of funds under this Scheme.
