Question : Renovation of Office Buildings in Lutyens zone

(a) whether a number of Government office building/ rooms have been renovated in New Delhi’s Lutyen’s zone during the last three years and if so, the details thereof, building name wise;

(b) the total amount incurred for renovation in each of such building;

(c) the name of buildings proposed to be demolished and to be reconstructed under Central Vista Redevelopment Project; and

(d) the time by which its redevelopment is likely to be completed?

(a) & (b): Government Office buildings (General Pool Office Accommodation) including those located in Lutyen’s Zone, New Delhi are repaired / renovated by Central Public Works Department (CPWD) based on the condition of the building, to keep them habitable and to meet the functional requirements. The total expenditure incurred during the last three years for renovation of such buildings (e.g. North Block, South Block, President Secretariat, Cabinet Secretariat, Nirman Bhawan, Udyog Bhawan, Krishi Bhawan, Shastri Bhawan, Jawahar Bhawan, Nau Sena Bhawan, Jamnagar House, Transport Bhawan, Shram Shakti Bhawan, Jaipur House, Jaisalmer House etc.) is ? 89.70 Cr.

(c) & (d): The buildings to be demolished and reconstructed and its timelines by which it will be constructed under Central Vista Redevelopment project have not yet been finalized.
