(a)whether an MoU was signed with Italy for facilitating customized training programmes on labour and employment;
(b)the status of progress made under the pact;
(c)whether this MoU seeks to also address upgradation of technical capacities to respond to the challenges emanating from transformation in the world of work; and
(d)whether the MoU has expanded its outreach to social partners and other stakeholders in the process and if so, the details thereof?

(a): Yes Sir, an MoU between the V.V. Giri National Labour Institute (VVGNLI), an autonomous body of Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India and the International Training Centre (ITC) of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), Turin, Italy was signed on 28th of November, 2018 at Turin, Italy to facilitate for organizing customized training and education programmes on issues related to labour and employment, for a period of 5 years.
(b): V.V. Giri National Labour Institute and the International Training Centre of International Labour Organisation have conducted the following three training programmes under the MoU:

(i) Leadership for Employment Promotion in Fragile Settings (11-15 March, 2019)
(ii) Promotion of Youth Employment in Fragile Settings (7-10 May, 2019)
(iii) Strengthening the Capacity of Technical Vocational Education and Training (12-15 May, 2019)
These training programmes were attended by the social partners from the Government of Afghanistan, officials from Ministry of Labour & Employment and VVGNLI .
(c): The purpose of the MoU is to collaborate in training and education that results in upgrading of the technical capacities as well as field level country-specific understanding of the Labour & Employment profile and also to respond to the challenges emanating from transformation in the world of work.
(d): Yes, Sir. The MoU has expanded its outreach to various social partners and other stakeholders through various training interventions jointly developed by the VVGNLI and ITC-ILO, Turin, Italy.
Social partners and stakeholder who have attended the training programmes are the employers’/ employees’ organizations and Government officials from Afghanistan and India
