(a) the details of new and pending rail projects in Uttarakhand;
(b) the project-wise targets fixed for the completion of these projects;
(c) whether work on the said projects is going on as per their schedule;
(d) if not, the reasons therefor;

(f) the steps taken by the Railways to complete the said projects on time?

IN UTTARKHAND.
(a) to (d): The details of ongoing projects in Uttarakhand with target date of completion
wherever fixed are given as under:

1. Deoband (Muzzaffarnagar)- Detailed estimate sanctioned. Land acquisition has Roorkee (27.45 km) been taken up. Tender for major bridges have been awarded.
2. Kichha-Khatima (57.7 km) Part detailed estimate sanctioned. The work is not progressing as State Government of Uttrakhand has not handed over the land to Railway which is to be provided free of cost by them as per commitment.
3. Rishikesh-Karanprayag The work has been included in the Budget 2010-11. (125.09 km)
Gauge Conversion
4. Bhojipura-Pilibhit-Tanakpur Earthwork, bridge work etc. have been taken up. (101.8 km)
5. Kanpur-Kasganj-Mathura- This project partly falls in the State of Uttrakhand Bareilly-Lalkaun (545 km) where work is progressing satisfactorily and the section is planned to be commissioned in 2010-11.
