Question : Regulation of Coaching Institutions

(a) the steps being taken by the Government to keep the interests of the
common people safe from the coaching Institutions for entrance tests to
professional courses;
(b) the steps taken to make the functioning of coaching institutes more
transparent, responsible, favourable to the students and to stop
exploitation of the students and guardians;
(c) whether the Government is taking any steps to regulate the fee structure
of the coaching institutes;
(d) if so, whether any mechanism is being developed to resolve complaints in
this regard immediately; and
(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (e): Many of the Private tuition / coaching centers are informal
arrangements and do not come under the purview of this Ministry. Besides
many of these operate at the school level which is under the direct purview of
the State Governments. Accordingly, all State Governments are being
addressed to take steps for effective regulation of such centres in the interests
of the students.
