(a) whether the Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) in the country are on the verge of closure and if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor;
(b) the number of persons likely to be rendered jobless following their closure; and
(c) the steps taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) to (c) The telecom service providers (TSPs) in the country are not on the verge of closure. However, a few major private TSPs have represented to the Government regarding financial stress in the telecom sector. The Government has decided to provide relief to TSPs by permitting deferments of spectrum auction payment instalments for the next two years (2020-21 and 2021-22).
