Question : RECRUITMENT OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITY



(a) the number of persons with disabilities appointed by direct recruitment in the Ministries and Departments of Government during the last three years, year, Ministry and Department-wise;

(b) the present backlog of reservation for disabled in the Government, Ministry/ Department-wise; and

(c) the efforts being made to clear these backlogs within a specific time-frame?

(a): Information relating to the number of persons with disabilities appointed by direct recruitment in the Ministries and Departments of Government during the last three years, Ministry and Department-wise is being collected and will be laid on the Table of the House.

(b): Information relating to backlog of reservation for disabled is not centrally maintained.

(c): A Special Recruitment Drive to fill up backlog reserved vacancies for Persons with Disabilities was launched in November, 2009. The Drive was concluded on 31.03.2012. As per information received from various Ministries/Departments, 2388 backlog vacancies reserved for persons with disabilities were filled up during the drive. Instructions have also been issued in June, 2013 to make concerted efforts to fill up backlog reserved vacancies. However, filling up of backlog reserved vacancies is a continuous process.
