(a): Yes, Sir.
(b) & (c): In order to promote food processing
industries, plan schemes have already been implemented to
provide financial assistance for establishment and
modernization of food processing units, creation of
infrastructure, support for R&D, Human Resource
Development besides other promotional measures to
encourage development of food processing Industries in
the country including J&K. These schemes are project-
oriented and not State or area specific. A Technology
Mission which was in operation in N.E. States and Sikkim
has been extended to J&K also. An amount of Rs. 8.72
crore was sanctioned for FPI projects in J&K during last
three years. State-wise details of financial assistance
sanctioned to FPI project for major schemes during 2003-
04 are annexed.
