Question : UPGRADATION OF NH IN ODISHA



(a) whether any work to upgrade National Highways in Odisha into four lanes is going on;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the work of upgradation of highways into four lanes is getting delayed as scheduled; and

(d) if so, the details thereof along with the reasons for delay including the workwise details thereof?

(a) to (d) Yes Madam. There are five works of 4-laning of National Highways (NHs) are ongoing in the State of Odisha. Out of which two nos. of works are delayed. The details of the works and the reasons for delay as on 31.03.2014 are as per following details:

Name of work	Reason for delay No. 1.	4-laning of Bhubaneswar -	Slow progress by the concessionaire due to cash	Puri section from km 0.000	flow problem, stay given by Honble High Court on	to km 67.255 of NH-203.	land acquisition of Puri bypass and delay in	disbursement of compensation. 2.	4-laning of Rimuli-Rajamunda	Delay in forest land diversion proposal owning to a	section from km 163.000 to	court case has affected progress of the project in a	km 269.00 of NH-215.	length of about 40 km which has also resulted in non	disbursement of committed debt by the Bankers and	delay in disbursement of compensation. 3.	4-laning of Sambalpur-	Not applicable.	Bargarh-Chhatisgarh/Orissa	Border from km 0.000 to km	88.000 of NH-6. 4.	4-laning of Panikoili-	Not applicable.	Keonjhar-Rimuli section	from km 0.000 to km 163.000	of NH-215. 5.	4-laning of km 68.000 to	Work commenced on 01.07.2014.	km 72.000 of NH-200.
