The said stocks of sugar need pre-processing before it is made fit for human consumption.
The said stocks of sugar are not to be issued under PDS. These are to be liquidated
through tender sale. At this stage, therefore, it is not possible to estimate at what price
it will be liquidated.
FCI liquidates stocks of sugar without storing it for longer period. But due to
certain operational problems stocks of wet, sweated and sweepings sugar are generated due
to long distance transportation and multiple handlings. Such stocks are liquidated through
open tender sale.
