Question : FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO SOFTWARE IN BANGALORE



(a) whether the Government have agreed to finance the project of Computerisation of Treasuries being executed by Software Technology Parks of India, Bangalore;

(b) if so, the amount allocated and released so far, State-wise;

(c) whether the Union Government have received requests from various State Governments including Maharashtra and Karnataka to provide assistance for computerisation of District and Sub- treasuries;

(d) if so, the details thereof, State-wise; and

(e) the time by which the funds are likely to be released for completion of this project, State-wise?

(a): No, Sir.

(b): Does not arise.

(c),(d) and (e): Ministry of Information Technology through National Informatics Centre(NIC) has been providing technical support to all the States for computerisation of their treasuries. This Ministry also provides limited financial support for pilot projects to establish proof of concept and the mass scale deployment has to be undertaken by the respective States fromtheir own resources. A proposal seeking financial assistance of Rs.47.4 crores for computerisation of treasuries was received from Government of Karnataka which has been examined and they have been advised to re-cast the same in accordance with existing guidelines.
