Question : AIR SERVICES IN MADHYA PRADESH



(a) the number of airlines operating in Madhya Pradesh;

(b) whether any proposal for operating an Indian Airlines flight between Aurangabad-Bhopal-Khajuraho is pending with the Central Government;

(c) if so, the details thereof and the time by which it is likely to become operational;

(d) whether there is any proposal to extend the services operating from Bhopal upto Jabalpur;

(e) if so, the details thereof; and

(f) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) At present, Indian Airlines, Alliance Air and Jet Airways are operating air services in Madhya Pradesh as per the following details:

Indian Airlines:	Delhi-Gwalior-Delhi	-	3 flights/week	Alliance Air:
Delhi-Raipur-Jabalpur-Delhi - 3 flights/week Delhi-Bhopal-Indore-Mumbai & return - Daily Delhi-Agra-Khajuraho-Varanasi & Return - 4 flights/week Jet Airways:
Mumbai-Indore-Mumbai - Twice daily Delhi-Indore-Delhi - 6 flights/week Mumbai-Bhopal-Mumbai - Daily Delhi-Varanasi-Khajuraho & return - Daily


(b) and (c): Due to commitment of aircraft capacity Indian Airlines has no plan to operate services on these routes.

(d), (e) and (f): Due to commitment of aircraft presently Indian Airlines has no proposal to extend the services operating from Bhopal upto Jabalpur. Jet Airways and Sahara Airlines has also no plan to operate on this sector. However, Airlines are free to operate on any route in their commercial judgement subject to compliance with the Route Dispersal Guidelines.
