MINISTER OF STATE FOR RURAL DEVELOPMENT (SHRI A. RAJA)
(a) At present the Ministry of Rural Development is implementing one rural sanitation scheme i.e. the Central Rural Sanitation Programme. Budget Allocation of this Programme during the current financial year is Rs 140 crores.
(b) The details of the proposals received under the Central Rural Sanitation Programme as per the available information, during last three years and current year, State-wise, are annexed.
(c) the number of proposals approved and the funds released under Central Rural Sanitation Programme during the last three years and current year State-wise, is annexed.
(d) Out of 82 project proposals received under Central Rural Sanitation Programme, so far 51 proposals have already been approved. The project proposals under the Total Sanitation Campaign are considered regularly by a National Scheme Sanctioning Committee and as per decision taken, projects are sanctioned accordingly. Some of the Project proposals received for model villages under Central Rural Sanitation Programme could not be considered because of limited availability of the funds.
