Question : Vacant Posts in Banks

(a) the total number of employees working in various Nationalised/Public and Private Sector banks in the country especially in Hathras of Zone Uttar Pradesh, State-wise along with the number of SC/ST employees out of them, category-wise;
(b) whether a large number of posts are still lying vacant in these banks pertaining to SC/ST category in the country particularly in the said region of Uttar Pradesh and if so, the details thereof, bank-wise; and
(c) the steps taken/to be taken to fill up all these vacancies at the earliest?

(a): As per inputs provided by Public Sector Banks (PSBs), the total number of employees and the number of those belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC) / Scheduled Tribes (ST) are given State-wise, including in respect of Hathras in the State of Uttar Pradesh, at Annexure-I. As regards private sector banks, Reserve Bank of India has informed that as per provisional data for 31.3.2018, there are 4,21,274 employees in private sector banks.
(b): Details of bank-wise number of posts pertaining to SC/ST category, lying vacant, as per information provided by PSBs, are at Annexure-II.
(c): PSBs have managerial autonomy in terms of human resource policies and procedures, including recruitment, and they undertake recruitment of staff to fill vacancies on ongoing basis as per their requirements.
