(a) whether both the units of the Koshi Hydel Power Station are functioning;
(b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;
(c) whether the Government have received any proposal from the Government of
Bihar in this regard;
(d) if so, the details thereof; and
(e) the time by which this proposal is likely to be approved?

(a) & (b) : According to information given by the Bihar State Electricity Board, Units
2 and 3 (out of 4 units of 5 MW each) of Kosi Hydel Power Station are available for
power generation. During the period April, 2000 – February, 2001 generation at this
power station has been 4 MU against a programme of 9 MU.
(c) : No proposal has been received from the Government of Bihar for
Renovation and Modernisation and Uprating of Kosi Hydro Power Station.
(d) & (c) : Do not arise.
