Question : PURCHASE OF SUB STANDARD EQUIPMENTS BY DDA



(a) whether it is a fact that the equipments purchased by DDA for its multi gyms in various sport complexes in the city were found to be of sub-standard;

(b) if so, the details thereof stating the amount involved in the purchase of the equipments;

(c) whether the Government have conducted any inquiry into the purchase of such sub-standard equipments;

(d) if so, the outcome thereof; and

(e) the action taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) to (e): Yes, Sir. The DDA has reported that some equipments recently procured for the DDA multigyms have been found to be below specifications.

The total amount involved in procurement of equipments at these multigyms is given below. However, the amount involved as far as substandard equipments are concerned is being examined by a Committee constituted for each Sports Complex:

Assessment is being made of the amount of substandard equipments involved and payments have been withheld. Action has been initiated to debar the Agency from making further supply to the DDA. Further action would be taken as per Rules/Act.
