Question : Bank Loan Defaulters

(a) the details of the companies which have taken loans to the tune of crores of rupees by defrauding the public and private sector banks of the country prior to year 2014 and subsequently these loan accounts were declared Non Performing Assets (NPAs) and the action taken thereon;
(b) whether top 100 companies of the country especially Kingfisher Airline, Geetanjali Gems and Crest Steel and Power Private Limited etc., are included in them;
(c) if so, whether major bank of the country i.e., State Bank of India, has informed the Enforcement Directorate or Central Bureau of Investigation against them; and
(d) if so, the details thereof including the action taken against the said companies?

(a) to (d):The Reserve Bank of India has informed that it does not maintain information based on date of sanction or disbursement or details of companies to whom loans were sanctioned/disbursed by public and private sector banks prior to 2014 and which later turned NPA.
