(a) whether the Government has received the inquiry report from the Judicial Commission
headed by Justice Shri Krishna Commission on communal riots prior to Mumbai Serial Bomb Blasts
of March, 1993;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the action taken by the Government thereon?

(a) to (c): The Government is aware of the report submitted on 16.2.1998 by the Commission
of Inquiry set up under the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1952 by the Government of
Maharashtra on 25.1.1993 headed by Hon’ble Justice B.N.Srikrishna of Mumbai High Court
for inquiry into the riots at Mumbai during December 1992 and January 1993. An Action
Taken Report on the recommendations of the Commission of Inquiry was placed before the
State Legislature on 6.8.1998 by the Maharashtra Government, which is the appropriate
Government in terms of Section 2(a)(ii) of the aforesaid Act.
