Question : Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana

(a)whether the Government has any plans for more plantation under Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana and if so, the details thereof:
(b)whether the Government plans to provide vegetable and fruit plant/seeds to the forest departments of various States for implementing the said Yojana: and
(c)if so, the details thereof?

(a)to (c)Ministry of Rural Development has informed that different activities in 696 Gram Panchayats identified under the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) take place through the convergence and implementation of existing Government Schemes and Programmes.

Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change implements afforestation programmes and schemes which inter alia include National Afforestation Programme (NAP) and National Mission for a Green India to encourage vegetable and fruit plants through Agro-Forestry and Social Forestry by involving local communities in project governance. Under NAP, an advisory has been issued by the National Afforestation and Eco-Development Board to the State Forest Development Agencies to ensure convergence of SAGY with NAP at village level afforestation, wherever, appropriate/possible.
