Question : Labour Rules for Contract Jobs

(a) whether the Government has modified/proposes to modify the labour laws for contract jobs in the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government is aware that many industries are not paying any benefits in terms of fixed term workers; and
(d) if so, the details thereof and the steps taken/being taken in this regard?

(a) & (b): Government of India has incorporated the ‘Fixed Term Employment Workman’ category under the Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act, 1946 and Rules made thereunder for all Sectors vide Notification No.G.S.R.235 (E) dated 16.3.2018.

(c) & (d): This Ministry has not received any complaint in this regard.
