(a) the number of beedi workers which were given subsidy for
housing development and scholarships for their children out of
the Beedi workers welfare fund;
(b) the details of such Beedi workers at present; and
(c) the number of applications pending for such subsidy as on
date?

(a) & (b): During the year 1999-2000, 7950 beedi workers
were given subsidy for housing development and 2,28,300 children
of beedi workers were given scholarships.
(c): All the applications received for such subsidy, complete
in all respects, have been considered for sanction.
