(a) to (c): The key thrust of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) is on providing inclusive education to all children with special needs (CWSN) in government schools. As per Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) 2013-14, the number of CWSN enrolled in schools is 25.03 lakh. In addition 2.06 lakh children with severe/profound disability are being provided home based education under SSA. The programme has shown a sharp increase in enrolment of CWSN from a level of 14.02 lakh in year 2009-10.
