(a) whether the Government has received any request from the States for grant of additional funds for modernisation of police force;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the total number of such requests received during each of the last three years and the current year, State-wise including Kerala and Tamil Nadu; and
(c) the status regarding grant of additional funds to the State Governments, State-wise?

(a) to (c): Yes, Madam. These additional funds have been provided out of Contingency Reserve of Modernisation of State Police Forces Scheme, which is about 5% of schematic allocation. Details of additional funds released to various States from out of Contingency Reserve during the last three years, i.e., 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14 are at Annex.
During the current financial year, additional funds have not been granted to any State.
