Answer given by the minister

THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR STEEL (SHRI VISHNU DEO SAI)

(a)to(c): Steel being a deregulated sector, the role of Government is limited to that of a facilitator only for the growth of steel industry in the country. Therefore, any decisions relating to setting up of Greenfield steel plants, investments in creating infrastructure for carriage of raw material like iron ore, coal etc. for steel production are the sole decision of individual investor based on various factors including commercial consideration and market dynamics.
