Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) whether provisions of Delhi Master Plan 2001 have been included in Delhi Master Plan 2021, in which emphasis was laid on development of sports facilities for all age groups and making these accessible to all sections of the society;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the present status of sports complexes, multi-gyms, playgrounds proposed to be developed under Delhi Master Plan 2021?

(a) & (b): Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has informed that in Master Plan for Delhi (MPD)-2021, norms and space standards for sports facilities have been proposed with the aim of development of sports and play areas for all age groups. DDA has further informed that in MPD-2001, sports centres /complexes were dealt as a part of “Recreational” land use, while in MPD-2021, sports facilities are under “Public and Semi-Public (PSP) land use category. The norms included in MPD-2001 and MPD-2021, are given below:

(c): DDA has informed that 23 sites have been earmarked for Sports Complexes in Delhi, out of which, 16 are functional/ operational, 04 sites are under planning stage and 03 sites are yet to be taken up. DDA has informed that there are 40 multi-gyms in various sports complexes and green areas and a total of 26 play fields (developed/ developing) in various open areas under DDA.
