Question : Vacant Post in Agricultural Institutes

(a) whether the Government is aware that many permanent post including top posts are lying vacant in various research institutes including Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB), Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) in various States;

(b) if so, the details thereof, institute-wise;

(c) whether farmers have been deprived of obtaining maximum agricultural produce especially from green revolution areas due to the vacancy of these posts; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and the action taken/proposed to be taken by the Government to fill up these vacant posts?

(a) Yes, Madam.

(b) As per Annexure.

(c) No, Madam. As a policy, officiating arrangements are made with immediate effect as per approved guidelines and established practice to ensure continuity of the ongoing research activities of the Institutes.

(d) All the vacant positions are to be filled up through the Agricultural Scientists’ Recruitment Board (ASRB), an independent recruiting body duly constituted with the approval of the Cabinet. Requisitions have been forwarded to the ASRB to get these vacancies filled up on top priority basis as detailed in the Annexure.
