(a) whether ASI has any proposal under their consideration to develop â€Belum Caves†in Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh as a major historical monument owing to its huge tourist potential;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether ASI has undertaken any project to excavate new caves around the existing “Belum Caves†in A.P.; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) The Belum Caves are under the protection of Government of Andhra Pradesh.
The monument has already been developed by the Department of Tourism, Government of
Andhra Pradesh as a major historical monument and is frequently visited by tourists.
(c) & (d) The ASI has not undertaken any project for excavating new caves around the
Belum Caves in Andhra Pradesh at present.
