(a) the amount of external assistance for water resources projects, received by State Govts. during the last two years up to March 31, 2002;
(b) whether there are many on-going projects with external assistance from World Bank, European Economic Community and Japan;
(c) if so, whether any of the Karnataka’s project has received any foreign funding; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) The amount of external assistance received by
State Governments during the last two years is given in
Annexure. There are a number of ongoing projects with
external assistance as shown in the Annexure.
(c) & (d) There is one ongoing water resource project
receiving foreign funding in Karnataka. The agreement for
the project “Karnataka Community Based Tank Management
Project “has been signed on 06.06.2002 for World Bank
assistance of SDR 80 million. The project is scheduled for
completion by 31.1.2009.
