Question : CONSTRUCTION OF ROADS FROM INDUSTRIAL WASTE



(a) whether the Government proposes to utilise effluents of industries for road construction, if so the details thereof;

(b) whether the Government has conducted any research for their utilisation;

(c) if so, the details and findings thereof;

(d) the locations where they are likely to be used initially; and

(e) the amount of revenue likely to be saved by this?

THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS (SHRI PON. RADHAKRISHNAN)

(a) No Madam. This Ministry is primarily responsible for the construction and maintenance of National Highways. The industrial effluents, which are the liquid waste discharge of industries, are not proposed to be used in the construction of National Highways.
