Question : AYUSH Hospitals

Will the Minister of AYURVEDA, YOGA AND NATUROPATHY, UNANI, SIDDHA AND HOMOEOPATHY (AYUSH) be pleased to state:

(a) the number of AYUSH hospitals opened during the last three years in the country, State/UT-wise along with the details of target set and achievements made so far in this regard; Original notice of the question received in Hindi.

(b) whether the Government has any plan to open AYUSH hospitals in various States with a view to develop and spread Ayurveda Medicines in the country;

(c) if so, the details thereof along with location identified for the purpose, state/UT-wise;

(d) the amount of budget earmarked and utilized during each of the last three years and current year in this regard, state/UT-wise;

(e) the details of criteria fixed by the Union Government for opening AYUSH hospitals in states; and

(f) whether the Government is planning to use Corporate Social Responsibility Funds to strengthen Ayurveda across the country and if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (d): As health is a State subject, opening of AYUSH Hospitals come under the purview of respective State/UT Governments. However, under Centrally Sponsored Scheme of

National AYUSH Mission(NAM) there is a provision for providing Grant-in-aid to set up upto 50-bedded integrated AYUSH Hospital including Ayurveda. Under NAM, grant-in-aid is being provided to State/UT Governments as per their proposed State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs). Since, implementation of the programme comes under the purview of State/UT Governments, no target has been fixed by the Central Government States/UT-wise. The locations for setting up of integrated AYUSH hospitals are identified by the concerned State/UT Governments as per their felt need. The State/UT wise budget allocated for setting-up of upto 50-bedded integrated AYUSH Hospital during the last 3 years and current year alongwith their location is enclosed as Annexure.
(e): Under NAM, setting-up of upto 50-bedded integrated AYUSH Hospital is approved as per the demand of State/UT Governments as posed in their State Annual Action Plan (SAAP).
(f): No such plan has been made.
