Question : MISAPPROPRIATION OF FUNDS UNDER NSAP



(a) the present status of National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) State-wise/UT-wise;

(b) whether the Government has received complaints regarding misappropriation of funds and violation of guidelines laid down under the programme during the said period;

(c) if so, the details thereof; and

(d) the action taken by the Government thereon?

(a) National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) comprises of Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS), Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS) Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme (IGNDPS), National Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS) and Annapurna. The status of NSAP during 2009-10 and 2010-11 State-wise/UT-wise is as given at Annexure-I.

(b) to (d) Identification of beneficiaries, sanction of benefits and disbursement are done by the respective State Governments. The complaints received are, therefore, forwarded to the concerned State Governments for taking appropriate action. The details of complaints received in the Ministry during the said period are given at Annexure-II.
