Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF RAILWAYS AND COMMERCE & INDUSTRY

(SHRI PIYUSH GOYAL)

(a) to (d) Provision of additional stoppages in existing trains is an ongoing process on Indian Railways subject to operational feasibility, commercial justification, etc. Trains operating between Delhi and Chhapra, including 12553/54 Saharsa-New Delhi Vaishali Express, 12565/66 Darbhanga-New Delhi Bihar Sampark Kranti Express, 15909/10 Dibrugarh-Lalgarh Avadh Assam Express and 22411/12 Naharlagun-Anand Vihar (T) Arunachal AC Express, are mostly being operated via Gorakhpur-Bhatni-Siwan-Ekma-Chhapra route and do not pass through Thawe/Gopalganj. As such, stoppage of these trains at Thawe/Gopalganj is operationally not feasible. Passengers may, however, avail changeover at Siwan (28 km from Thawe).
