Question : Highway Projects as per AP Reorganisation Act, 2014

(a) the details and present status of work related to highways proposed under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, 2014 and the time by which all the projects are likely to be completed;
(b) the total national highway widening projects pending in the State of Andhra Pradesh and the time by which these projects are likely to be completed;
(c) the steps taken by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to improve road connectivity in the backward regions of the State;
(d) the details of highways constructed in the State during the last year;
(e) the details of new highways proposed in the State along with the financial allocation made for the purpose; and
(f) the steps taken for the development of Greenfield Expressway connecting the city of Amaravati with Anantapur?

(a) Out of 5 roads, two roads namely NH-65 and NH-30 are existing National Highways. NH-65 has been four laned. Construction of six lane bypasses to Nandigama and Kanchikacherla on NH-65 is in progress with physical progress of 94%. Out of 165 km of NH-30 up to Bhadrachalam, 2 lane with paved shoulders has been completed in 121 km and the work is in progress in the balance 44 km. The stretch of Macherla – Dachepalli & Kondamudu – Perecherla has been included in Bharatmala Pariyojana and declaration this road as NH is under process. The balance part of this route Hyderabad-Nagarjunasagar – Macherla – Piduguralla - Guntur is falling on existing National Highways of NH-565, NH-544D & NH-167A. DPRs for Anantapur – Amaravati Expressway and Amaravati outer ring road are in progress.
(b) Forty seven National Highway projects of widening are in various stages of progress in the state of Andhra Pradesh which are targeted to be completed by 2023.
(c) 3 National Highway development projects are taken up by NHAI to improve the road connectivity in the backward regions of Andhra Pradesh.
(d) 463 km length of National Highways have been completed during the last year in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
(e) Development and up gradation of National Highways is continuous process. Declaration of new National Highways and financial allocation are made based on traffic levels, availability of funds and inter-se priority.
(f) Detailed Project Report is in progress for Ananthapur – Amaravati expressway.
