(a) the number of artisan clusters working in the country particularly in Orissa location-wise;
(b) whether the Government has identified new locations for such clusters; and
(c) if so, the details thereof and the financial status of functioning clusters at present?

(a): Govt. implement a cluster development scheme for artians clusters by the name
“Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hastshilp Vikas Yojana (AHVY)â€. Under the Scheme artisans clusters
are supported for a period of 5 to 7 years. The number of artisans clusters presently
working under the Scheme including the State of Orissa is 642. A statement indicating
location wise details of artisans clusters functioning under AHVY is as per Annexure-A
attached.
(b) & (c): Yes, Madam. During the current financial year i.e 2010-11, the new cluster
which have been identified is as per Annexure-B attached.
The financial status of functioning of these clusters shall be assessed on the
completion of the project.
