Question : WATER DISPUTES BETWEEN ANDHRA PRADESH AND ORISSA

(a) the names of river water disputes between Orissa and Andhra Pradesh pending for settlement;

(b) whether the State Governments have approached the Union Government to intervene in the matter for their settlement;

(c) if so, the details thereof and the action taken by the Government in the matter;

(d) whether the Neradi Barrage on river Vansadhara in Rayagada district comes under the purview of water disputes between the States; and

(e) if so, the details thereof and the action taken by the Government to resolve the same?

(a) to (c) The Central Government has not received any complaint either from Government of Orissa or from Government of Andhra Pradesh under Inter-State River Water Disputes Act, 1956 for adjudication of water dispute with regard to use, distribution or control of waters of inter- State rivers involving Orissa and Andhra Pradesh.
