(a) whether the Government have a proposal to impart eduction in regard to Ayurvedic and Homoeopathic System of Medicine to the student of MBBS as reported in the Navbharat Times dated December 13, 2000;
(b) if so, the facts of the matter reported therein; and
(c) the time by which the final decision is likely to be taken?

(a)to (c) Yes, Sir. The Government of India have requested the Medical Council of India to consider including the basic principles and concepts of Ayurveda, Homoeopathy and Unani in the curriculum of MBBS students. The Council have constituted a Sub-committee to consider the matter.
