(a): Yes, Madam. Segregation of lean and busy seasons has been in effect from 01.04.2007. In respect of freight traffic in general, the period from 1st July to 30th September is treated as lean season and the remaining period of the year as busy season. However, specifically in respect of transportation of Coal Tar, Coal Tar Pitch, Furnace Oil, Light Diesel Oil and Carbon Black Feed Stock, the period from 1st April to 30th June is treated as lean season and the remaining period of the year as busy season with effect from 17.04.2014.
(b): Presently, Busy Season Charge is leviable at the rate of 15% on the applicable Base Freight Rates during the Busy Season only on all commodities except Container and Automobile Traffic.
