THE MINISTER OF TRIBAL AFFAIRS (SHRI JUAL ORAM):
(a) to (c) Yes Sir, Proposal have been received from the Government of Gujarat, in the
current year, seeking assistance under the following Schemes of the Ministry of
Tribal Affairs:
(i) Grants under Article 275(1) of the Constitution,
(ii) Development of Primitive Tribal Group.
(iii) Girls/Boys Hostels for STs.
(iv) Ashram Schools in TSP Areas.
(v) Vocational Training in Tribal Areas,
(vi) Post Matric Scholarship for STs.
(vii) Coaching and Allied.
(viii) Book Bank for STs.
The proposals of the Government of Gujarat for Grants under Article 275(1) of the
Constitution and the Scheme of Book Banks were approved and an amount of Rs. 22.50
lakhs and Rs. 10.25 lakhs respectively have been released to the State Government.
The proposal for development of Kotwalias, a Primitive Tribal Group, received from the
Government of Gujarat for Rs. 444.20 lakhs, is to be placed before the Selection Committee.
Some clarifications were sought in respect of Post Matric Scholarships, which are awaited
from the State Government. The other proposals are under examinations in the Ministry.
