Question : Status of Jal Jeevan Mission in Rajasthan

(a) the details of villages identified for implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in Rajasthan during last three years, year and district-wise;
(b) the parameters being considered for the inclusion of villages during each phase of implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission;
(c) the year-wise progress achieved and financial outlay involved in the implementation of grey water management in each State and each district of the State of Rajasthan;
(d) whether 50% of the allocation of funds towards Panchayati Raj institutions under the Fifteenth Financial Commission is tied towards water and sanitation; and
(e) if so, the details of the utilisation of the funds allocated to each State and each district of
Rajasthan?

(a) &(b) Government of Rajasthan has prepared a plan under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) to provide piped drinking water to remaining 88.56 lakh households in the State by 2024. As informed by the State Government of Rajasthan,villages/habitations having piped water supply schemes are given priority by retrofitting them for the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission. During the current year, under JJM, 11,744 villages have been planned for implementation to provide tap water connections to households. District-wise details is at Annex–I.
(c) Under Jal Jeevan Mission, at the Ministry level, such work-wise details are not maintained.
(d) & (e) Yes, the grants under the Fifteenth Finance Commission (XV FC) award for Rural Local Bodies (RLBs) including Panchayati Raj Institutions are provided as basic and tied grants in the ratio of 50:50. Ministry of Finance released the first instalment of the tied grants of Rs. 15,187.50 crore for Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) to all the 28 States including Rajasthan on 15thJuly,2020. The State-wise details is at Annex–II. This ministry does not monitor utilisation of funds released by the Ministry of Finance to States for PRIs.
