(a) the details of pending/ongoing rail projects/surveys in
Himachal Pradesh alongwith the progress made thereof, project-
wise:
(b) the amount allocated to each of the project and the
expenditure incurred so far thereon;
(c) whether some projects are running behind their scheduled
time;
(d) if so, the reasons therefor, project-wise; and
(e) the steps taken by the Government to complete these projects
in time ?

ONGOING RAIL PROJECTS IN H.P.
(a)& (b) : The details of pending/ongoing rail projects in
Himachal Pradesh alongwith allocation of funds, expenditure
incurred and progress made are as under:-

New B.G. 91.47 11.0 The work of construction line 210.0 0 of new Broad Gauge line between 0 between Nangal and Una (17 Nangaldam- kms.) has since been Talwara completed and taking commissioned. The work of over Una-Churaru Takrala (16 siding of kms) has also been Mukerian- completed and Commissioner Talwara. of Railway Safety has granted sanction for running of passenger trains. The detailed estimate for the next block section i.e. Churaru Takrala and Amb Anduara (11 kms) has been sanctioned. The acquisition of land is getting delayed as the clearance from Forest Dept. is awaited. 2. New B.G. 27.90 0.15 0.15 The matter with regard to line acquisition of land in between Kambli village in Himachal Kalka- Pradesh has been taken up Parwanoo. with the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh who have proposed to change the location of terminus station from Kambli to Tipra. In view of the space constraints at Tipra, the State Govt. has been advised to reconsider the matter. Once the final stand of the State Govt. is known and land is made available, the physical work of construction of this line would be started. 3. Doubling 408.69 95.42 33.97 About 11 kms of Jalandhar- of rail Pathankot-Jammu Tawi line section falls in the State between of Himachal Pradesh. The Jalandhar- detailed estimate for the Pathankot- project has been Jammu sanctioned. The work is in Tawi. full swing and three sections viz. Suchipind- Bhogpur-Sirwal (26 kms), Mukerian-Mirthal (18 kms) and Bharoli-Madhopur Punjab (13 kms) are targeted for completion during 2004-05. The whole project is targeted for completion during 2007-08.
