(a) whether only a few flight training schools are operational which led many incumbents to go abroad to get aircraft flight trainings, if so, the details thereof along with the number of such schools operational in the country, Sate/UT-wise;
(b) whether the Government proposes to operationalize all existing flight training schools in the country; and
(c) if so, the details thereof and the steps taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) to (c) There are 34 functional Flying Training Institutes (FTIs) for pilot training up to Commercial Pilot License (CPL) level. A list of FTIs approved by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is attached as Annexure. As and when any institute applies for approval, same is granted after ensuring compliance of DGCA regulation as stipulated in Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR) Section 7 Series D Part I.
